Information security experts have reported a new virus and there are no efficient methods today to combat the malware nicknamed Djvu.

Djvu is spreading on the Internet like an avalanche, attacking many devices around the world. It is known that the software was created on the basis of the STOP encryption virus, which, in its time, caused many problems to network users.

Reaching a device, Djvu downloads 4 files: one of them displays a ‘System update’ message, but no update actually takes place. Instead, the PC user receives a document with the hackers’ contact details. The decryption fee is not specified, but the cybercriminals promise to give a discount if the victim promptly applies to them for help.

All internet users are aware of the existence of ransomware viruses. Everybody knows equally well that no money should be transferred to fraudsters as there is always an antivirus available against any malware. Experts do not yet know how to remove Djvu, but a solution is sure to be found, as the leading antivirus producers are already working on the issue.
