The glasses will go on sale later this year.
Mark Zuckerberg has announced plans for Facebook to launch smart glasses. The announcement occurred during the company's latest quarterly reporting event concerning financial performance. Ray-Ban and EssilorLuxottica will develop the product, which has been underway since 2020.
The glasses will not support VR and AR, as we shall see those features in other smart glasses from Facebook designed under the codename Project Aria. This promising project will include a virtual assistant, navigator, and other handy features.
What to expect from a collaboration involving Ray-Ban and EssilorLuxottica remains unknown. Zuckerberg promises that the glasses will have an iconic form factor, and they will let you do "some really neat things." But, of course, this can be interpreted in so many ways. Still, the Ray-Ban brand is recognised throughout history as a cult eyewear manufacturer. Therefore, the glasses will be of high quality.
