Throwflame company has created a flamethrower that can be attached to a drone. The device has multiple applications from burning weeds to destroying wasp nests.
US-based company Throwflame has created a small, but rather powerful flamethrower that can be mounted on almost any unmanned aerial vehicle. The device consists of two parts: the gun itself and a 3.78 litre tank containing the flammable liquid mix. The length of fire streams shot can reach 7.5 meters.
The fuel is propelled under pressure, and the ignition is triggered by electric discharge. A full tank of the flammable liquid mix lasts for continuous one and a half minutes of flamethrower operation. The device weighs only 1.8 kg, therefore it can be basically installed on any drone, but the developers recommend DJI S1000, a high-end expensive drone having a high load capacity.
The flamethrower can be purchased for $1,500. In civil life, flamethrowers are used to destroy weeds and wasp nests, but this dangerous weapon is bought increasingly more often by Americans as a toy.
