Dreamworld AR has launched a new device on Kickstarter – AR glasses projecting a 200-inch virtual screen a few meters in front of a user’s eyes. The gadget integrates with any smartphones, tablet PCs, computers and even game consoles.
Weighing 142 g, DreamGlass Air offer the user a 90-degree field of view. A fully charged battery lasts for 5 hours, total resolution is 2.5 K, and a refresh rate is 60 Hz. The device can be connected to almost any gadget using any operating system. Where a user needs zero latency, (for example, in the case of connection to a game console), a wired connection can be used.
The device’s name indicates its main technical feature – the ability to create a virtual screen. The user feels as if the screen is located a few meters away from his eyes, thus reducing eye strain. The design of the device leaves enough space underneath the lenses for viewing.
The gadget can pre-ordered $269, its sales will be launched in December at $489.
