Cinera Edge — Compact IMAX Cinema

A VR headset-like gadget is capable of rendering 5K image quality and Dolby Surround sound.

The Cinera Edge startup has introduced an interesting device, referred to as "portable cinema". It is a headset that allows you to watch videos in the highest quality. Although, the gadget has a significant disadvantage: it is intended for only one user.

Cinera Edge boasts 5K picture quality and Dolby Surround sound. The creators achieved this by placing two 21 mm OLED displays with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels inside the fixture. The user’s viewing angle is around 66°. The developers believe that such numbers are quite comparable to visiting a real movie theatre.

Device dimensions — 197 x 207 x 10 mm, weight — 490 grams.  The balance of the gadget allows you to watch movies for a long time without feeling tired. A 5200 mAh battery provides 3 hours of uninterrupted operation. There are various connectors for synchronizing with a memory card and other devices.

The headset is powered by Android 7 and supports major streaming services. The standard model costs $449, the Pro version can be purchased for $549. Deliveries will begin in December 2020.
