The Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania Ivy League launched an online course in financial technologies including cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
The new course entitled «Fintech: Foundations and Applications of Financial Technology» includes a series of lectures and studies on subjects, such as blockchain, crowdfunding, cryptocurrencies, among others. Apart from the university staff, the course also features speakers representing leading companies in the financial industry, for example, managers of Square payment processor, CommonBond lending organization and investment firm Vanguard.
According to Wharton Business School representatives, the course was launched as part of improving fintech education. By launching the course the University of Pennsylvania joined other educational institutions that had already introduced blockchain and fintech in their educational programs. Among them are Boston University, Turkish Bahçeşehir University, National University of Colombia and other higher education institutions.
