We are used to cloud storage being controlled by a third party and requiring a monthly subscription. Cubbit startup offers a new approach to the popular service.
The creators of Cubbit believe that physical-digital clouds will make the Internet freer and easier for people to access information. Their data storage device has a communication module inside, and for $249, the user gets 4TB of data with the ability to connect an external hard drive and integrate with the home server.
Data transmission is protected by triple encryption over the AES-256 Protocol. You can use the same cloud from multiple accounts, and the range of access rights settings is quite broad. The speed of information processing is about the same as that of popular cloud storage.
The main disadvantage of the device is that the user is fully responsible for storing data. If something happens to the gadget, the information on it may be lost. On the other hand, the risk of your personal data falling into the wrong hands is also significantly reduced.
