A year ago, Oppo and Vivo - subsidiaries of Chinese company BBK Electronics - engaged in a race to build the best full-screen device. Both companies are working hard to create new gadgets, and Oppo has already presented a prototype of an unusual smartphone.
The first thing that stands out is the lack of side ridges, a typical smartphone feature most users are accustomed to. The smartphone features an 88-degree fold, which has inspired the term ‘waterfall screen’. However, the bezels are invisible when viewing the screen from the front. These features give the device an unusual and interesting appearance.
At present, we can only speculate about the design of the phone: its technical characteristics and the company’s commercial plans have not been revealed to the public yet. Industry experts speculate that their competitor Vivo is also working on a similar phone. Who knows, maybe the technology will be implemented in the next Vivo flagship smartphone, NEX 3.
The results of the race between the two companies are yet to be determined. But it’s obvious that the market will definitely benefit from the competition between them.
