The people of Denmark and Sweden are the first to enjoy the McPlant.
The McPlant is a brand-new McDonald's burger which consists of a mixture of pea and rice proteins. Beyond Meat has been helping the fast-food chain to develop this sort of simulated meat. The trial period for the plant-based burgers will end on March the 15th in Sweden and April the 12th in Denmark. If successful, the brand-new burgers are going to also appear on the menu in other countries.
The Swedish subsidiary of McDonald's has introduced the McPlant as an option for people who want to limit their meat consumption. Abandoning beef in favour of plant-based vegetable proteins is one of the recent trends from fast-food restaurants. Burger King, KFC and other fast-food companies are creating similar meat-free options like the McPlant.
