A team of scientists from the University of Tokyo has developed a vehicle that can be easily carried in a backpack.
Compact electric bikes are a true trend of the last few years, but the recent development of Japanese engineers surpasses even the most daring innovative transport ideas. Poimo is an inflatable motorcycle that can be carried in an ordinary bag when deflated.
The vehicle weighs about 5,5 kg. The wheels and steering wheel of the motorcycle with a wireless controller are attached separately. Also, you need to connect the prototype to an external air compressor, which would maintain the internal pressure inside the vehicle.
It’s still hard to say how much the final product will differ from the prototype. The market will have to decide whether the concept will succeed and such motorcycles will appear on the market. But the idea is definitely something no one has ever thought of before, and it has already attracted the attention of many netizens. We also know that the development team is thinking about creating not only inflatable vehicles, but also other products.
