Hyundai reveals TIGER

The Korean car giant  has released a detailed description of its off-road walking car.

New Horizons Studios, a newly established Hyundai Motor Group unit, is developing TIGER, a new futuristic machine. This uncrewed transport vehicle is equipped with a leg-wheel chassis. Each of its manipulators has six degrees of freedom making the vehicle able to travel over almost all types of terrain.

All elements of the vehicle will be produced from carbon composites using 3D printing technology. A number of built-in sensors will enable TIGER to analyze the terrain relief mapping and choose the optimal way to pass over obstacles. Although the exact capacity of the vehicle still remains unveiled, its designers assure that the robot will be capacious enough to be used in a wide range of missions, from helping victims of natural disasters to the exploration of other planets.
