The device itself determines the degree of its own individual wear or tear, after the diagnosis the worn-out part is restored using special materials.
We're used to the fact that over time even the highest quality products soon wear out. But Goodyear has been thinking for a long time about a new type of intelligent device that could gain experience and can only get better. One of these projects is the ReCharge tire. The tire will be able to determine the extent of its own wear and repair defects using a liquid mixture of synthetic rubber reinforced with unique fibers. The user needs to periodically insert capsules with this substance onto the grooves on the tire hub.
When the tire needs to be renewed, the substance will reach the outside of the tire through microchannels, after this time it will harden due to air contact. Thus, the problem areas of the tire will be repaired. How much will this extraordinary, helpful, convenience cost, the developers of the project have not yet confirmed? It's also unclear whether the repair process will take place on the go or if any particular maintenance work will be required.
