A new artificial intelligence system is to transform preparations for the UEFA Super Cup games

Engineers from Brigham Young University have developed an AI technology that will significantly improve football game strategy.

For example, researchers believe that artificial intelligence can be used to automate the process of analysing and commenting on video footage watched by players and coaches to identify their mistakes and the characteristics of their opponents' game styles.

The new AI system operates under a special algorithm: it successively notes and analyses each player's actions and determines their strengths and weaknesses, position on the pitch, key functions and tasks. Using this technology will save time and eliminate the need for manual comments and the analysis of recorded videos.

The research is currently at an early stage of development. Although it is known that the developers have already obtained data with 90% accuracy when detecting and marking players using the proposed algorithm. Furthermore, with an accuracy of 85%, this system detects the basic tactics plans of different teams.
