Uber will surprise clients with a brand new service. Company representatives have announced the upcoming launch of an air taxi service next month. New York residents and visitors will be the first to test this new transport format. Uber Copter will fly from Lower Manhattan to the local airport.
The trip will last for 8 minutes, with the price of a single ticket depending on demand for the service. Company representative Eric Allison has announced that the price will vary from $200 to $225. Only Platinum and Diamond clients will be able to order an air taxi.
The helicopter will have a capacity of five passengers. Clients will be able to order an Uber Copter within five days of their trip. Heliflite will collaborate with Uber to service these flights.
Meanwhile, Uber is actively working on developing air transportation. The company plans to launch their own network of flying taxis in Dallas and Los Angeles.
