Scientists from Northwestern University in Illinois have created a tiny flying microchip.
The device can fly due to having microfiber wings that rotate through the air. Scientists are planning to produce similar devices in the future, providing them with sensors, power supplies, and antennas for wireless communication. Furthermore, the device can glide through the air, making them ideal for gathering information.
The Flying device is most effective in large numbers. One of the primary aims is to monitor the environment, for example, following environmental disasters. Likewise, for the safe disposal of the flying chip, scientists would like to make them water-soluble.
