The French company Gaussin has made a breakthrough in the alternative fuel market.
Countless leading car manufacturers have an interest in hydrogen and electric vehicles. Gaussin has developed a modular platform with alternative energy sources. It will be used to build trucks and certain types of tractors.
The platform will be available for hydrogen or all-electric vehicles providing a power range of 800 and 400 km, respectively. The added advantage of the hydrogen platform is that the vehicle can be refuelled in as little as twenty minutes. Furthermore, the electric platform offers the option to quickly swap the battery. Either version can accelerate up to 90 km/h and has a lifting capacity of up to 40 tons.
The platform has been fitted with a lightweight chassis and runs on open interface software. The equipment can be easily attached to the platform with a universal plate. Because of this, the system works autonomously.
