The Japanese developer Square Enix has released the "Back Stage" video demonstrating the ability to trace a path - the technology that game developers pin great hopes on. By imitating the natural light distribution, it enables to create a much better picture. Path tracing is likely to become the main highlight of the next-generation consoles and graphics cards.

The video clip was created by means of GeForce RTX 2080 Ti – this is why it is featured on NVIDIA - the official YouTube channel. The picture is simply amazing in terms of its granularity and abundance of details while the main character’s face is executed perfectly.

We just have to wait and see when path tracing will be used not only for cat scenes, but also in games.
