The service will identify information in screenshots using OCR.
Google has added a new algorithm that analyzes screenshot content to the beta version of Google App 10.61.
Image analysis will be based on artificial intelligence built into the Google Lens service. Developers have opened access to the feature through the Smart Screenshots interface, which will give users access to automatic screenshot content search features in addition to editing options.
Judging from the Lens source code, the service is based on optical character recognition (OCR). Whether Google will implement this new feature in all its search services or keep it limited to screenshots is still unclear.
The company has not yet revealed when the service will be added to the main Android release, but everyone can gain access to the beta version. To do this, you need to register as a tester on Google Play.
