Thanks to this innovation, the drone can perch on tree branches and carry different items.
Scientists from Stanford University have created an unusual quadcopter inspired by wildlife. Its primary feature is its unique paws, inspired by the peregrine falcon's claws. The team named their development the Stereotyped Nature-inspired Aerial Grasper, or SNAG for short.
SNAG is based on an actual real-life peregrine’s paw. Yet, motors and wires carry out the function of its muscles and tendons. Due to having a built-in accelerometer, the drone can preserve its balance. In the future, this technology could be useful for delivering goods.
