Thanks to the efficient use of resources the system enables users to reduce their water consumption by almost half. The device is suitable for both commercial and residential premises.
CES trade fairs offer an excellent opportunity for technology companies to showcase their inventions. This year, the prize in the Sustainability Category was awarded to Dutch company Hydraloop and its domestic water recycling system.
The unit has a nice looking design and can purify 85% of domestic water. The purified liquid is well suited for any purpose, except for quenching thirst. It should be noted that the device has no replaceable filters, membranes or other parts that require special maintenance.
Hydraloop believes in saving not only water, but other resources as well, therefore, the purified liquid is kept at room temperature. According to the company’s calculations, it can save up to 600 kWh of energy per annum.
At about $4,000 per unit, it is far from cheap. However, in countries, where water is expensive, this amount can pay itself off within a reasonable time.
