The startup Eyedea Inc. has created an interesting gadget, PITTA, which combines the capabilities of drones, action cameras, and streaming cameras by using a modular system.

The developers of PITTA have already collected almost 10 times more than their planned amount on Kickstarter: $423,858 instead of $50,000. And the crowdfunding campaign is still active until February 3rd.

One of the features that immediately catches your eye is the shape and dimensions of the camera. PITTA is like a baseball and fits easily in your hand. The kit includes a module with four propellers, a module for streaming and mounting for a selfie stick, and also a charging stand.

When flying, the drone uses GPS navigation and computer vision which allows it to skirt obstacles, fly around a certain object, take a panoramic survey, follow the operator, and return to the starting point of its route. The quadcopter also has an automatic landing function.

The control of the drone is performed using a conventional smartphone.

Despite its small size, the drone is equipped with a 4K-camera. In addition to the normal mode, it is capable of both slow-motion shots of 60 frames per second and of making high-speed photos.

It can be used as a home security system if you put the camera on the charging platform. The camera connects to Wi-Fi and transmits everything that happens in your apartment online. You can connect to it using a computer or a phone and monitor the security of your home.

The company Eyedea specializes in computer vision and is developing a smart camera for cars in addition to the drones.
