Milrem Robotics and InnoVfoam have teamed up to create a family of fire-fighting robots that can take their live colleagues’ place.
The work of firefighters is inextricably linked with danger, but some situations are so serious that it would be more reasonable not to put out a building, but to allow it to burn down completely, preventing the spread of fire to neighboring structures. One of the examples is an accident at chemical and industrial enterprises. However in this case, we face another danger - clouds filled with toxic smoke, which can spread many kilometers from the fire scene.
This means that such enterprises are in need of reliable emergency monitoring systems, and a similar device was introduced by Milrem Robotics and InnoVfoam. It was created on the basis of manufacturers’ previous developments and is equipped with infrared cameras, thermal sight, gas sensor and other devices.
All this allows the remote operator to quickly receive relevant information directly from the burning structure. By the way, one can also manage the machine remotely. The maximum payload of the robot is 1200 kg, which allows it to easily carry foam tanks, fire hoses and other equipment. Its pump capacity is 20,000 liters per minute, which is a very good indicator.
