It’s safe to say that ‘The Lion King’ is a fine example of contemporary animation. Now, fans are interested in going beyond the final product to immerse themselves in its creation process.
The remake of the famous animated film ‘The Lion King’ was released last July. With a budget of $250-260 million, it made a box office gross of a staggering $1.6 billion.
The film instantly amazed viewers with its incredibly realistic illustration of characters and locations. In fact, the animation was so well done, that an inattentive viewer could even mistake the special effects for a real shoot of the savannah.
The special effects of the animated film were created by Moving Picture Company led by Girish Balakrishnan, joined by Magnopus and Unity Technologies. They took advantage of a special technological platform based on the Unity engine, which is normally used for creating computer games.
Several days ago, MPC decided to share their working process with fans and uploaded a short but extremely interesting video on YouTube.
