Video hosting company Vimeo and streaming service Livestream have released Mevo Plus - a portable 4K camera for online broadcasts. This was the first new product as a result of their collaboration since Livestream was acquired by Vimeo and created the new service Vimeo Live.

The camera allows you to make live broadcasts in Full HD 1080p mode while the videos are stored on a microSD card in 4K. For recording, the most popular codecs are used: H.264 for video and AAC for audio. Broadcasting is possible via Wi-Fi, LTE, or Ethernet.

Users can operate the camera and view recorded videos via the mobile application for iOS (9.3 and above) and Android (6.0 and above). Recordings can instantly be shared via e-mail, Vimeo, Dropbox, YouTube, Facebook, etc.

For $10 per month Livestream Mevo enables simultaneous broadcasting to multiple platforms or broadcasts via a specified Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP). The tariff plan includes unlimited cloud storage.

Mevo is perfect for both studio and street broadcasts. The camera has a compact size (63mm x 50 mm), is light weight (142 g), and is protected from moisture.

A 4K sensor from Sony with a resolution of 12.4 megapixels ensures professional level video quality. The frame rate when shooting is 30fps.

The published price of Mevo Plus is $500 but this is only for the camera itself. A complete Mevo Plus Pro Bundle set which includes a battery, a tripod, a case, and the camera itself will cost about $800.

Mevo Plus - портативная 4K камера для онлайн-трансляций

Mevo, the previous camera from Livestream, had a number of shortcomings. For example, you could only broadcast on Facebook Live. In their combined work, Vimeo and Livestream eliminated the shortcomings of the previous version and created a product that will be convenient for all those who need to organize live broadcasts - from video bloggers and journalists, to musicians and businessmen.
