The global financial group London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has launched a new blockchain-based infrastructure — Digital Markets Infrastructure (DMI). This is the first system of its kind created by a major global exchange platform, designed to serve the entire life cycle of private funds — from issuance and tokenization to post-trade settlement and servicing.

The platform was developed in collaboration with Microsoft and deployed on the Microsoft Azure cloud system, which ensures scalability, high resilience, and the ability to integrate with existing traditional financial systems.

At the first stage, DMI will work with private funds, but LSEG plans to expand its asset coverage in the future. A client base has already been established: the management company MembersCap carried out its debut transaction through the platform, while the cryptocurrency exchange Archax (regulated under FCA laws) acted as the nominee holder for a fund linked to a major Web3 organization. In addition, EJF Capital has joined the first group of users, and a number of its funds will soon be available through DMI.

An important feature is integration with Workspace, LSEG’s terminal used by professionals. Private funds registered through DMI will become visible within the Workspace user workflow, facilitating discovery, evaluation, and interaction between general partners and professional investors.

According to Darko Hajdukovic, Head of Digital Markets Infrastructure at LSEG, the goal is to increase liquidity and simplify access to capital markets, providing transparency and efficiency for both traditional and digital assets within a single, regulated environment.

Microsoft, in turn, emphasizes the strategic partnership, stating that DMI is an example of innovation driving the transformation of the financial system for clients.
