The HyperPort will allow freight containers to travel hundreds of kilometres in minutes.
The HyperPort concept will feature large vacuum tubes along with capsules travelling together with passengers and freight. Additionally, unique magnetic accelerators will increase the speed of the capsules by up to 900-1000 km/h, which is like the speed of an aeroplane.
The HyperPort is remarkably similar to the vacuum mailing tube system found in the middle of the last century. However, in this system, the tubes are much bigger and intended for entirely different cargo. Currently, the HyperPort prototypes are being put to the test, so we will not see the system in action anytime soon.
The engineers must ensure that the entire section of the multi-kilometre track is completely sealed. To accomplish this, they will have to create particularly durable valves, pumps, and other parts. This project will require a lot of investment. Still, if successful, the HyperPort will compete with road and rail transportation.
