Firefighters test innovative Qwake C-Thru mask

The device provides ‘thermointellectual’ vision to see through smoke. This is done through a combination of thermal imaging and AI. 

Entering a smoke-filled room is extremely dangerous, but in some situations it is inevitable. For example, when you need to rescue someone from under the debris. In this case, regular human vision is useless, and the C-Thru mask by Qwake can come to the rescue.

The device uses thermal imaging, and the information is then processed by artificial intelligence, which identifies objects and creates the optimal route. After the data is processed, a visualization module projects an image using augmented reality technology. Naturally, the system is not advanced enough to create a detailed image, but its resources are sufficient for locating the necessary objects in the smoke.

The firefighters that tested the device noted the high level of detail provided by the helmet. Nevertheless, they will still need to make their own decisions. Even if the device is successfully brought into service, many things will continue to depend on the human factor.
