Ducati is a leading motorcycle manufacturing company. The company’s products are highly popular in Italy and other countries. Ducati is currently owned by Audi AG corporation, which strengthens its status even further.
Now that the world is moving towards the development of "green" energy and switching to environmentally friendly engines, manufacturers are forced to develop in this direction as well. Ducati’s management is keeping up with this trend continuously reaffirming its intention to launch the production of electric motorcycles.
“The future is electric,” said Claudio Domenicali (Ducati CEO) during his recent presentation in Spain. This statement should be taken very seriously, all the more so as the company is not a stranger to electric vehicles. It has already produced an experimental batch of electric bicycles based on the concept developed by Milan Polytechnic School.
It is still too early to speak about the characteristics of the future motorcycle, but the company’s Managing Director Eduoard Lotthé has indicated that it would hit the market as early as 2021. Ducati will have withstand tough competition, from Honda, Yamaha and Harley-Davidson, who have already focused on manufacturing electric motorcycles.
