Audi unveils its innovation at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Looking really futuristic, the new concept SUV AI: Trail by Audi, impresses people with its technical specifications. The car is, of course, powered by electricity, and the name of the model refers to smart technology and artificial intelligence applied in the autopilot mode. Today, the car is able to move in the automatic mode only on the roads.
One of the most unusual solutions is five small drones, which act as the headlights in AI:Trail. As the car moves, the drones illuminate the space around it as well as the road.
The huge 22-inch wheels and 8.5 cm thick tires provide 34 cm of ground clearance, which is enough to overcome the most challenging off-road conditions.
The robotic body features a lot of glass. The cabin is glazed almost all around the perimeter with only the weight-bearing body structure made of metal.
The developers expect that one charge of AI:Trail battery will be enough for a 400-500 km run, when driving on flat terrain, and 250 km, when driving on challenging off-roads.
The SUV does not just have a four-wheel drive: each of the four wheels has its own electric motor. The total power unit capacity is 320 kW with a torque of 1,000 Н⋅м.
The pleasant trifles which will make outdoor leisure as comfortable as possible include the removable seats transformable into a hammock.
