The German company RainRider has discovered a way to protect cyclists from snow and rain.
It is not a secret that, in the warmer months, bicycles can be an excellent alternative to cars. However, even with the clear benefits of this mode of transport, bikes have a considerable disadvantage, offering inadequate protection against different weather conditions. The company RainRider has taken on this challenge, creating Softtop.
Softtop is like an umbrella. It consists of a cover and an aluminium frame that attaches to the front of the bike. As a result, the cyclist and their bike are protected in every kind of weather. Of course, Softtop won’t save you from a heavy downpour, but it can handle splashes from puddles.
The device weighs 1.5 kg and, when folded, it can fit into a shoulder bag. The material is UV-proof as well as anti-fog. You can purchase a Softtop for $153.
