The first flight of VSS Imagine could happen this year.
The VSS Imagine is a third-generation spacecraft from Virgin Galactic. The purpose of its creation is to attempt to make space travel affordable and to attract tourists to this industry. The craft will be put into orbit by a launch vehicle, and after reaching the desired altitude, the ships will undock. A unique mirror alloy will protect the device from the external environment's aggressive effects, and thanks to its modular design, the vehicle will be easy to launch more frequently into near space
Work on another spacecraft, the VSS Inspire, is also underway, and its ground tests will begin soon. You may remember that the company's previous project was called VSS Unity. This ship made an unsuccessful test flight last year, and it is now at the company's base in New Mexico.
