The world's first automatic transmission for an electric bike has been developed

Using electric bikes will become even more comfortable. Previously, when riding a bike, you had to change the gears, but now the Smart e-Bike System can do it for you.

The Smart e-Bike System utilizes an automatic transmission developed by Valeo for e-bikes. The device has a 48-watt motor mounted on the bike's bottom bracket. It can increase your pedal power by up to eight times. The 7-speed transmission has been developed by Effigear, but Valeo is also planning to collaborate with other manufacturers soon.

The bike can function in standalone mode or obey the orders of the user. The Smart e-Bike System is equipped with a transmission locking function which protects the bike from theft.
