As Sony plans to consolidate its leadership in the VR headset market, the company has announced a next-generation device.
Sony Senior Vice President Hideaki Nishino was the one who announced the company’s ambitious plans for the future. He said that Sony is preparing a next-generation VR headset called PS VR 2 for the PlayStation 5. However, the company is yet to announce the release date and even the approximate cost of the gadget.
The new headset will have only one wire, which will make it much easier to connect and set up. In addition, the increased overview area will allow gamers to enjoy the virtual world more fully. And tactile feedback coming from joysticks will improve users’ interaction with the game world. Moreover, from Nishino’s speech, one can figure out that Sony is developing a system for monitoring the user’s head position while playing.
