Rapture has been developed by a British company Radical Sportscars and presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed held in England.
Rapture is a full-fledged race car, but it is totally road-legal and can used outside racetracks. The car is rather expensive ($112,600) and manufactured to order, but the very possibility of buying Rapture for city driving makes it different from any other race cars, which can be found only at auto shows or high-speed races in specially designated locations.
The weight of the car is 787 kg. The designers managed to achieve such a low weight by removing a number of convenience elements. The car has two non-adjustable seats for the driver and a passenger. Directly above them, is an airbox.
The 350 hp Ford EcoBoost engine with 434 Nm of torque allows the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds. Speeds are changed using an automatic six-speed sequential gearbox. The car’s top speed of 266 km/h is not very high for a race car, but it is more than sufficient for regular roads.
