Recently, the company revealed the innovative Uptis tire, which has taken sixteen years to develop.
The unique car wheels from Michelin will be available in 2024. What’s special about them is that the tires are airless, which makes them one-of-a-kind. Nonetheless, despite how long it took the company to develop these tires (sixteen years to be exact), thanks to the superior durability, the new wheels have a much greater lifespan lasting three times longer than traditional car wheels. This reduces user costs together with the amount of outlay and is great for the environment, too.
The tires also bring greater peace of mind as they are puncture and shockproof. They are also seven times lighter than a standard wheel. Therefore, fewer raw materials are needed for their production. Furthermore, the Uptis design means the product can be customised for different purposes. Yet, it is entirely compatible with any modern car design. Externally, the new wheels are virtually no different from the standard ones.
