The Federal Office for Information Security in Germany has stated that the browser from Mozilla outperforms competitors - Chrome, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge - in terms of security.
The Federal Office for Information Security in Germany (BSI) was tasked with finding the most appropriate browser for government agencies. Sure, the question of software security is important for all users, but when it comes to governance and corporate interests, information security is always the main priority.
Following the rules listed in a special document on secure browsers, the government officials tested the following browser versions: Firefox 68, Chrome 76, Internet Explorer 11, and Edge 44. The Mozilla Firefox browser was selected as the absolute winner.
Based on these standards, BSI advises government agencies and private companies on the safe use of browsers. This document is occasionally updated. For example, descriptions of HSTS, SRI, CSP 2.0 technologies were added last year, as well as rules for the collection of telemetric data.
It turned out that only Firefox fulfilled all the standards of a secure browser.
