The Russian company IR WAY won first place in the technological startups accelerator, GenerationS 2017, and has received financing of 8 million rubles ($129,000) for the further development of their project.

Engineers at IR WAY have created a system that allows you to get an improved picture of the road in real time and output it to the built-in car screen or project onto the windshield. The main application of the technology is assistance to drivers at night or in poor visibility, for example, during fog. In addition, the system can help when overtaking other cars.

The company's patented technology allows you to customize usual car headlights so that they generate infrared radiation, which is captured by the night vision camera. Algorithms that process the camera signal in real time form a high-resolution color image. The development of IR WAY allows for an increase in viewing range of up to 1.5 km.

GenerationS the largest technological accelerator in Russia supports start-ups from different countries. In 2017 3,630 teams submitted their designs for participation in the competition. After a multistage selection, 100 projects were included in the program.

Startups participate in one of the directions (tracks), among them FinTech, smart systems, medical technologies, energy, and others. In order to participate in the program, the company must describe its project from a technical point of view, identify a possible target market, and propose a model for the monetization of the product. It is also very important to make the project interesting for investors.

For five years GenerationS has supported dozens of start-ups, many of which subsequently participated in other major international accelerators and conducted additional rounds of financing.
