The owners of MyEtherWallet cryptocurrency wallets started to post on Reddit and Twitter about problems with the service on April 24. When trying to log in, users were sent to phishing sites that intercepted account data and withdrawed cryptocurrency from the e-wallets of the victims. The network has information about the theft of about $ 150,000 in ETH. Some users reported on Reddit that the IP addresses of the servers were changed to Russian.

In an official statement of MyEtherWallet.com representatives of the service reported that the problems are related to the substitution of DNS servers. The developers claim that the users who used Google's DNS servers were affected and advised to use CloudFlare. Representatives of MyEtherWallet once again recalled the need to carefully verify the authenticity of the wallet, including the SSL certificate. Also, the developers called to ignore the scammers, who offer compensation to the affected users.

It is not for the first time when an information about problems with DNS of MyEtherWallet is appearing in the news. In January, developers denied rumors of hacking, and users accused the service of hushing up problems. Then possible changes of DNS records were reported by the developers of the coin called Altcoin Ethereum Blue (BLUE). MyEtherWallet stated that the service is just fine, and suggested that the developers of BLUE are trying to discredit the wallet or are simply incompetent.

After the new theft, Blue representatives once again noted that they were right, and advised to switch to other services because of the low security level of MyEtherWallet. Blue is also waiting for apologies from the wallet developers for insulting the company's business reputation.
